Yes, another day with no pictures…lol! Not really…and at the same time, ummm well…
I stayed at the Hamption Inn on Smallman which was totally close to the convention center…like across the parking lot and around the corner close. LOVE that! So first thing after the yummy breakfast buffet, I had a nice little walk over. I passed this sign and was WAY impressed…

Honestly, this might not be that big a deal to some of you, but it just so happens, I have been to the Western end of this expedition, in Seaside Oregon. Being from the Western US, I’ve seen so many National Parks and monuments and really enjoy visiting them. But the Eastern US, especially the Northeast is so full of a different kind of history that I haven’t had a chance to explore much yet. Anyway, I was totally tickled to be able to say now that I’ve been to the beginning and the end
OK-I guess it’s good I don’t have a bunch of pictures. These posts would be crazy long!
Market Day #2 was the Schoolhouse Series. This is a day’s worth of 15 and 30 minute presentations for the Quilt Market attendees. Some are educational, such as the benefits of using the internet…some are designers and manufacturers introducing a new product. Sometimes you get freebies (great for blog giveaways ;)) or win a prize. I mostly went to more business oriented and internet presentations, but HAD to see Michael Miller debut new collections from Laura Gunn, Paula Prass and our pal, Patty Young, as well as others. I was so stunned by the bright colors, I completely forgot to take pictures!
I also went to see Jenean Morrison present her new line, Picnic Parade…she told me she had a giveaway, which I LOVE because it was fabric so I could see it in person before I even got down to the show floor. I know Bari J tweeted a picture of me, walking some samples around…

…glad I was wearing that coordinating pink shirt, haha! Phyllis Dobbs showed off some fun new lines from Quilting Treasures…and let us make off with a couple of fat quarters from their licensed Golden Books line.
I think that our Thursday evening Meet-N-Greet in the Omni Penn lobby deserves it’s own post, so I’ll be back with that, later or tomorrow…the photographic evidence is out there, LOL!!!!! But before I go, I owe you some winners and another giveaway…
The WINNER of the Moda Home Calender Tea Towel is Kelly (comment #8)-the 16th is Ziva (my younger dd)’s bday. I need your address to send this to you
The WINNER of a boutique eye mask and plain (but new in plastic) earplugs is Dawn (comment #5). Anyone who’s been through all that NEEDS any extra naptime she can sneak in! lol!

And I GUESS *eye rolls and big sighs* I can part with the fun lil fq’s of Little Golden Books fabric and a bit of this gorgeous new trim from the shop…

that matches perfectly. Leave a comment, blah blah blah and maybe you’ll get lucky!

LOL hope I get lucky but whatever I have enjoyed your posts….I have seen the photographic evidence from the other blogs. But I like the fact that you have been at the beginning and end of the trail..that is just so cool and I will geek out with you! Out here in the west there are so many historical things that are different than the east coast just a diff feeling entirely

Great Quilt Market posts! One of these days I’ll get to attend in person, meanwhile….living vicariously through blog posts is the best I can do.

There are no words to express how ticked I am that I didn’t see that sign. I’m an absolute Lewis and Clark fanatic (been to their camp at Fort Clatsop more times than I can count). Crap!

I’m so excited about the Little Golden Books fabrics!! Just this weekend I found my plush Poky Little Puppy (stored away in a box in the garage) - I’ve handed it down to my daughter. Now to find a copy of the book for her.
Thanks for the Quilt Market photos!

Quilt Market sounds soooo fun! I’d be fabric drunk. And I think I’d really love the Schoolhouse Series — very cool.
And how cool that I won an eye mask and ear plugs! I was sure the vomit on the foot was going to take it — it still makes me cringe! However, I’m not going to talk you out of it and was actually laughing about it all after I typed it. The security lady even wanted to see the TOP of my head — to make sure all was safe — and she was a good foot shorter than me (and I’m a whopping 5′2″ — so that tells you something!) I had to bend over and give her a good glance at my lovely bald noggin! What a sight.
Anyway — THANK YOU! I need to place another order for that trim…looove that trim…

Oh I love the trim. Funny, my son is standing here holding the Saggy Baggy Elephant book right now. It is a favorite.
I’m so jealous of your trip. Can’t wait to see all the new stuff in the shop.

Am I too late for a shot at the Little Golden Books fabric? It’s going to be a huge success! I could name a dozen other books/illustrators from my childhood I’d love to see in fabric form …

Am I too late for the Golden Books? I hope it’s still open, sooo cute– and the gingham trim pushed me right over the edge to leave a comment and try to win it. How fun!
